Yes we know that Britain's Got Talent and the US has an American Idol. But Changchun will have its very own Super Idol!

If you think you have the talent, the nerve or just have a great song waiting to come out then join our competition on December 10th from 6.00 pm till 9.00pm at The Classic Bar in Xian Da Lu. If you don't want to compete then just come along and enjoy the fun!

This is hopefully the first of many talent competitions that we want to run and to keep it simple for the first time we are looking for only 16 competitors. Entrants will be individuals and not groups and we are looking for songs not other forms of entertainment.

We will be holding the competition at the Classic Bar (close to the Shangri La) and we are gratetful to them for allowing us the full use of their facilities including their superb sound system. There will also be a truly wonderful first prize of a professionally organised
photoshoot to capture our star performer at their charismatic best!

The rules of entry are simple:

1. There is a 20 RMB entry fee. First come, first served. Only the first 16 will compete in this initial competition. This fee is to cover our own set up costs.

2. There will be a first round and the four best performers will go into the semi finals. The four semi finalists will then sing and two finalists will be chosen. The two finalists will then play off against each other to produce the eventual winner. Each contestant cannot sing the same song twice so must prepare 3 songs. You should either:
i. Send us a selection of the backing tracks for three songs not longer than 4 minutes each in MP3 format or
ii. Write to us and tell us which three songs you will prepare (we will provide the music) or
iii. tell us which three songs you will sing to your own musical accompaniment (i.e. guitar) or
iv. tell us which three songs you will sing acapella (Cameron are you hearing me!)

3. Send us your details: Full name and age, phone number and email, where you are from and your occupation

4. List two hobbies (the judges may question you during the show)

5. What is your dream or aspiration
